Hey everyone,

I decided to move on installing a subwoofer in my truck (22 Altitude with base sound system) and amping my aftermarket interior speakers. I had the speakers installed professionally (it was a good deal so I let the shop do it) but I installed the 4 channel amp, PAC wire harness and module, and powered sub myself.

I decided to go with the p300-8p which is a powered 8" sub from Rockford Fosgate. I am extremely pleased with how it came out and how it sounds. That little 8" really hits and exceeded my expectations (in my 20s I was running two 12" on a 1000 watt amp, so I have an idea of what strong bass is). It also only takes up about half of the space under the rear seat.

Anyway, I haven't yet run the remote bass control knob for the Sub as I couldn't decide on where to put it. I was wondering if anyone knows if an option exists for a universal knob that could be installed in the driver's grab handle.

Any other recommendations are also welcome.

TIA

Bumping this as I'm getting this sub installed as well. Did you find a location? I was actually thinking I'd like it installed at the rear of the centre console. My reason being that when I'm alone in the truck, which is most of the time, it'll be a "set-and-forget" type adjustment. But if I've passengers, then they can control how loud they want it, or can turn it off even, to promote conversation.

cheers,

So, I had installed those aftermarket cubbies that mount around your gear shifter. I choose a metal version. I used existing holes on that the mount it in the driver side cubbie. The link below is similar/same as the one I ordered
You use existing bolts in the center tunnel to mount it so no drilling required. I did have to use a few washers to get the spacing of my bass knob to sit correctly.

I'll try to remember to get a picture of the one in my truck after work.

To follow-up with my earlier post, I am attaching the picture where I installed mine. I should correct myself, I think I had to drill into my aftermarket storage cubby, but not into the vehicle. I try to avoid drilling into the vehicle whenever possible. There was a little metal plate that came with my control knob that is used to mount it. I used that as my template to drill the holes.

I have seen the one that installs into the 12v area, but I didn't want to lose that.

I like the install Calipoon showed under the light controls, that's slick.

Anyways, here is how I did mine.

I ended up installing it under the light controls to the left of the steering column
