i appreciate you sharing your findings, but my experience with non-bed tents has led me to the conclusion there are a lot of no-name companies manufacturing tissue paper, throwing some poles in, and calling it a tent.

At $59 i'd expect a single use out of the tent before throwing it away, and that single use wouldn't be weatherproof

I agree with you on quality etc.. If someone is on the fence about one, it is worth the $60- to see if it is even a plausible option.
We had a Coleman 'SUV' style tent for years, it is a free-standing tent that also zips around the open hatch end of an SUV (we used it on my F250 with cap and the wife's Outback).

Again, you are right, you get what you pay for. $59 is cheaper than one night in a hotel so, yes use it once and it is paid for. May be even worth it to have as an emergency sleeping option.
