Hi everyone,

I'm new here and this is my first post, so first of all - Hello!

I have been a jlwranglerforum member for a couple of years. AKA 'Stingrey' over there as well.

Monday I traded in my 2018 Sting Grey JLU for a new 2020 Sting Grey JTR. The dealership has been great and they managed to find one locally that ticked all the boxes but one - a front steel bumper.
I asked the dealer service for their price to install a new steel bumper - $1575.00 (welcome to Canada eh!).
I wish I could say that I was surprised.

I can buy the steel bumper parts from Mopar Canada . I am just not 100% sure which parts in this schematic I will need. Other than fog lights and tow hooks, which (if any) parts from the OEM plastic bumper can be re-used.
I only want to install the Stubby Steel bumper (no end caps, no skid plate and no winch at the moment).
What part numbers, below, will I need?
1, 7, 8 + ???
Will the mounting points of the plastic bumper impact bar work for the steel bumper or will I need parts #2?

Jeep Gladiator Bumper parts needed? - from Plastic to Steel 1593635724278

Thanks!

p.s.
I will update my avatar when my Gladiator arrives :)

Welcome. Glad you made the jump:like:
I would just go aftermarket and save some cash. You are going to need most of everything on there minus the tow hooks for the most part.

I would agree go after market and save the cash... Much cheaper you can by a great bumper and winch cheaper than the Mopar steel bumper all by itself

Thanks for the replies.
I want the stock look. I have been looking at bumper options for 2 years and, to me, nothing really looks better than the Mopar version.
In Canada, good aftermarket steel bumpers are still quite expensive.
I can put together this OEM steel stubby, from Mopar Canada, for about $850. ($600USD.)
That price includes parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8 shown above.

Not sure if I will be much help. I agree with you and I like the Mopar bumper a lot, although it is pricey. BAM has it for just over $700, but they don’t ship to Canada. Quadratec has it for around $1k and does ship to Canada but you will have to price out shipping to see if that’s a better deal than buying each piece.

When I bought mine it was 1 entire assembly, so that might be the best thing is to start with the assembly and tree down on mopar website. I also got a rubicon and when I replaced the plastic bumper I was not able to reuse anything. The steel bumper assembly also required a different skid plate and closeout.

Yeah, you have to get the mopar accessory bumper like that. If you're buying it otherwise its actually more expensive and would be a PITA. I've priced it out for my rear bumper.
