What is the latest news regarding the best camper shells or bed caps for the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon?

What might you recommend? I'm just looking for a very basic camper shell / bed cap cover.

Thank you! I reside in California.

There is a sub forum dedicated to them on this site. Try there. Sorry I don’t know how to link.

RSI, RLD, ARE, Alumacab, Lear, some are fiberglass, one aluminum, and some stainless, my favorite feature is the pop up side windows, giving total access to side, better then most bed covers. I think the Alumacab might be the lightest at 130 pounds, stainless around 170 lbs. and fiberglass perhaps a little bit more. The fiberglass tops have a better flow with body lines, but what really flows on Gladiator bodies so personal choice. The fiberglass ones have less weight capacity but can get HD versions, and the fiberglass are the lowest price, although I think they all fall between $3000 to $3900.
I went with a RSI , like the stainless, like pop open side windows with small pop out vent windows, like the load capacity and fact that stainless rails on top are standard. I am setting mine up to sleep in, sleep in semi fetal position anyway, building a bed frame with stove and sink slide out under it, planning on insulating the roof and carpeting the sides before putting propane fireplace heater in....I started out just getting a cap also, Ha!......Jack

I have the 21 Mojave also. Went with the RLD Designs Stainless Steel Canopy. Love it, but does lack headroom.
I need to add insulation in top also. Condensation a few weeks ago while camping in the mountains. What are you planning to use and what type adhesive?

I'm going to use one inch foam board between the ribs in ceiling and use the nutserts in ceiling for the table mount to hold it up with the white plastic bead board you typically see in rest stops and kitchens, fairly cheap. Side benifit is making it brighter inside, plastic should hold up and not attract moisture, will probably put a thin rubber tape between surface of ribs and plastic board. I'm an electrician , so adhesvie vulcanizing tape is perfect. Now that I am thinking about it, probaly should order some LED red and white recessed lights for ceiling.....Jack

Thanks. Yes, I think lighter color will be beneficial. Mine has 3 recessed tracks if I use board, but had been thinking carpet. Was trying to avoid spray adhesive. May try the tape? Hope to get started sometime after Thanksgiving, and get ready for an early Feb. trip.

I just worry tape or adhesive is going to let go sooner or later, the way my cap is put together there are "ledges at the outside I can set the white board in with a rubber grommet to keep it quiet. Either way , thanks for bringing it up, got me thinking about going ahead and just get it done before spring gobbler season.....Jack

I have an ARE, for ME, it’s functional and performs exactly what I needed. QC is very lacking and have had to make multiple trips to keep attempting to get it right. That said, I’ll deal with that because, in the end it works for MY needs.
