Same here - but 2011 silverado in my case - and more sensitive than my wife's GC by a bit, a lot more than anything else we own or have owned.

Sometimes you can go by the surface of the rotors - the color and how "slick" they look and feel. Hard to describe, I guess I go by experience......... don't have a really good explanation, sorry - and maybe it's just late!
thanks again. Ill do little googling and see what I can find. I doubt i caused that to happen, but who knows. I was driving like a %100 a hole so theres a chance.

Honestly, and no offense, but that can do it.
I had to do brake work on many IHP cars years ago (IHP = Iowa Highway Patrol)
Their "maneuvers" often meant get to speed as fast as possible, apply brakes like you are heading to a cliff. I saw not only glazed brakes, but rotors cut so badly they were into the center vents.
Again, it's hard to do some diagnosing from afar, if you were here, I'd do a test drive first, then pull a wheel and look at and feel the rotors and go from there...............

Powerstop has their Z036 Pads available. I’ve not used them, but would be interested in what anyone else who has thinks about them. They are advertised as increasing stopping power vs. stock pads.
I put them on my rubicon JK and wow they where awesome. Unlike my gladiator when I wheel they stayed firm because they remained cool even when caked with mud. My gladiator brakes became soft when I was out this weekend on the KAT. Something else I will do when it needs a new set of shoes is a bigger brake fluid cylinder to have a higher volume of fluid.

First thing my buddy said when he drove my truck was "whoa, BRAKES!" I agree, they're great.

If you are having a braking issue, the first thing I would do is bleed them. Fast and easy way to check things out.

Really? And how far back do you start, 5 feet? (joking)
This is hands down the best brakes I've ever had and in fact, I've had to be careful and it will toss things forward really hard it stops so well - and fast.
Ask my wife how many times she's had stuff thrown around in the cab when I hit brakes. ;-)

Cross drilled rotors help a LOT on the YJ, but that's still not a patch on the JTR's brakes.

You’ve obviously never driven a YJ...
