Placement of the little round ones will be very different versus ours.

Those are extremely curved and have quite a bit more distortion.

We use the ratio that you will find on OEM spot mirrors, which are always in the outer corner. They are like that because they are not nearly as distorted as the little round ones.

You are not losing any view with ours on the outer corners, you are simply adding. 👍
Oh that's interesting, I didn't know the curvature was different, I thought that was a bit of a 'standard'.

So are yours designed to be on the outer edges only then? Or could a person put them on the inside if they wanted to?

@chorky

Definitely not a standard and very much dependent upon the engineering.

Here is a Jeep F0600 model vs a $4 set of Amazon stick-on rounds. They don't call them fish-eyes for nothing!

We started making these mirrors about 6.5 years ago and needed about 7 revisions to get it where we wanted it. We use 9 planes to adjust the curvature of our mirrors. Think of that like breaking them up into a grid and tweaking it at 9 points. If the engineering is poor, you get distorted points at some points and not others, like the round example above.

Here is the very first custom shape mirror we ever did for BMWs. V1 prototype 1. As you can see we had a lot of adjusting to do. 99% of the stick-on spotter mirrors are not custom shapes like ours. Smoothing a circle is one thing, but smoothing asymmetrical shapes is rather complex.

7 revisions later we really got this unique engineering down and got curved glass that was incredibly clear, but shows a lot more view.

Glass is also not able to be curved nearly as much as plastic.

So to answer your question, if you go buy a current model Bronco, F150, Ram, Etc or any truck with factory spotters or towing mirrors, they will have real glass that is curved much less than the majority of stick on mirrors.

You will find our product meets, or exceeds in many cases, the clarity of factory grade spotter or towing mirrors.

The below 2 pictures is a BMW X5 with our mirrors, our old Ram 2500 and an X5 with regular circle spotters.
