Went in for the update radio recall 9they list as VP4 recall on the paperwork) and it seems that they also replace my bluetooth speaker. Anyone else have the same thing done? I didn't see the replacement as part of the recall. I have to say though that I could. not connect the darn thing to my phone so maybe it will work with the new one now!

There is a large thread on this if you search for it.

I am not aware that it has been recalled, but in the thread I mentioned there is a step by step protocol that works to make it connect with your bluetooth device. There is, also, lots of discussion of the radio needing to be reset almost everytime it is used. I would say it probably should be recalled. What radio system do you have that is being recalled?

I have the 8.4" Radio and premium audio group. I thought the recall was just an update that was somehow tied to the backup camera. I did not tell them about my issue with the blue tooth speaker as I figured I'd just figure it out sooner or later. They proactively replaced it for some reason. I'm trying to figure out why and was it because it was included in the recall.

Interesting, I had a problem with the speaker, where the mic just doesn't work. I only had to reset it once, the very first time I used it. Since then it has worked with my iPhone and iPad every time. But the microphone never works. I wanted to use it for Facetime while camping.

I took it to the dealer last week and they couldn't find any TSBs or recalls. So they said they would order a new one for me, no further questions. It hasn't arrived yet.

Well although I don't know how they knew I needed a new one - the new one works great! Turned it on, showed up on my iPhone bluetooth as "Jeep", and connected. easy peavy.
