Hi All,
Does anyone have any experience / advice about install / rust prevention with body armour? I am picking up the poison spider body armour and am doing the typical stress the fuck out over drilling into my stunningly beautiful rig. Am I being crazy? Could this cause rust down the road? Silicone? Paint the holes? Start speaking to God again? what is the advice out there?

I believe where you'll be drilling and putting in threaded inserts are aluminum.

But, you can get a paint touch-up pen and paint the bare metal on each hole. Let it dry, and proceed with installation.

I think the tub is steel unfortunately (or fortunately) not sure on that one lol. So I might have to go the paint route. I was hoping some people on here would have some long term reviews / suggestions. The attached file is NOT my property or my jeep. It is just the same armor I am looking to get

Your not crazy, I don’t want to ruin my rig either! Money doesn’t grow on trees and this thing cost ALOT!

There's paint companies out there that make long tube spray paint. Comes with a long tube to shove into rockers and frame rails to spray the inside. If your going to expose fresh metal with holes, I'd spray that in it. I also use butel tape along seems to keep paint wear down and help seal. It's what campers use to keep debris out of cracks and waterproof stuff. My wife rock slider all got butil tape squeezed into it. It all mostly comes out, but creates a seal in the small gaps that salt gets into.

Those are awesome points; thank you! I am thinking I might hold off for a bit. I live in the middle of BC and there is a lot of sand / salt on the road... going to think on it for a while
