My stupidity is your gain!

I was in the black friday shopping binge and ordered a new Mopar steel rear bumper to go with my new frontend.

Now weeks later I realized my Rubicon came with steel bumpers ?‍♂ (in my defense they still have cheap plastic covers...)

515 is what I paid for (not including shipping). Asking for 500 to stop the bleed. Needless to say it's still brand new in the box.

In Issaquah area.

I could be completely wrong, but I was under the impression that the plastic bumpers have a steel core with plastic covering (this is what I have on my Mojave) and the steel bumpers had no plastic at all, just the E-coating on the metal itself.

Are you sure you don't have the plastic bumpers?

that's what confused me! the steel bumper still has some plastic trims on the top (the honeycomb "steps") and wraps around the ends a little bit. all other parts are metal.

when I was shopping my mind was fixated on the plastic trims, so my mind goes "yup I'm sure I have a plastic bumper"

I feel Mopar is deliberately confusing us! like I also had the plastic front Rubicon bumper which looks just _like_ the metal one, and comes with its own skid plate which in turn does not fit the steel rubicon bumper if I switch!

My wife's Wrangler has the steel bumpers, and there are definitely still some plastic parts near the fender flares, license plate, etc. The corners and sides on the rear are steel for sure though.

Front steel is easy to identify, fastner heads are visible. Rear steel has plastic 'accents' but there are some exposed metal surfaces (plastic bumper sufaces are all plastic).

Do you know if the bumper compatible with the Parksense sensors? Does it already have the four holes for the sensors?

It has no pre-drilled holes.

Im not sure if the factory options have a separate part number though
