Curious as to what your issues were. I have my registered and showing up in app...but can't communicate or do anything with it. If I for example try to remote lock it...it says "may take 30 seconds or more" and just spins an spins forever until I force close the app.
Mine did a remote start the other day - by the time it did that, I had my coat, put it on and was half-way out the door heading to the truck. So I figured - why bother when you have the fob?
I can see if you don't have close access, say are at work on a snowy cold windy day - you can start it even if a quarter mile away, but the communication isn't great.
My beef is that you are SUPPOSED to be able to get status reports about your vehicle - fuel level, tire pressure, even location, but that information is always days old - if not actually OLDER! I've had the same info hang in mine for almost two weeks and a couple hundred miles. So I'd wonder- what's the point if it's not REAL-TIME?

You complain, but you already know the problem is poor cellular reception where you live. The data is not intended to be real-time, but updates on a regular basis when the truck can communicate with the cellular network. I have good AT&T reception where I live. I use the remote start multiple times a day with no issues. The info screen updates at least once a day, when the truck is being driven.

Yeah, right - I drive the truck almost daily - so why is it that the info is still right now several days old? I was all over and even into another county, 100 miles today. Sure, blame me - you assume the truck SITS all the time? Think again. No, I do NOT know the problem is poor reception where I live - you are telling us all that I leave it parked and don't drive it?

Sorry, there's great reception where I parked the truck for 30 minutes today and I had it out driving around for almost 3 hours............. We've had it shopping in places with good reception. It simply does not update. I could understand if it was left parked for a week - but to suggest it's "poor cell reception where I live" implies I never drive it. It's been out at least 4 times this past week and it's only Friday.
We had it out two days ago - I got home hoping - and it still had info from the week before.
No, it's beyond poor cell reception. So don't blame me - the system has issues. It seldom updates. I drive it often.
And I'll damned well complain about a system that doesn't update for a week when it gets driven so often. It's turned into my daily driver. The bloody thing has issues
Don't throw it back at me - I was a WAN admin for government setting up offices and cell communications for said offices all over the state. I know where cell reception is and isn't. It may be an issue when it's parked where it is now - but not where it was most of today.

Here's a good one for ya - it was a good week or so behind when I checked last night. It was still behind this AM. I drove all around today, about 3 hours, came home at 1:20 or so, no update.
I checked it just now - it updated -sitting HERE in its parking spot by my shop.
So go figure, all this driving around, all over the place, passing numerous towers, great cell reception - out shopping this week, still not updated, still have info from days ago. Now I get it home, park it, and it updates.,
See, it's sporadic. If it was cell reception, it would have updated earlier in the week, even today while I was out. But no, I've had it all over the place shopping, doing errands, my wife and I drove a half hour to go eat Chinese, returned some stuff to Menards, came home, it hadn't updated. Today it does, after I park it.
It's not cell reception alone.

If I remember correctly, you said AT&T does not cover where you live. That means Uconnect communications is subject to the whims of the cellular carriers where you are, and their roaming agreements with AT&T. I never said the problems were your fault, just that you know they are a result of the cellular coverage in the area where you live.

But I drive outside of our area. Coverage sucks east of Des Moines, but I have to go to Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale, Ankeny and so on- and there is coverage there. To do almost anything I have to drive at least 10 miles - to do most things, 15-20 miles or more.
So although they don't cover my area - where I live - they DO cover Ankeny, and we were up there for almost a couple of hours this week, and actually several other places.
So if it's a scheduled thing like it's set to do it at 4pm daily, and people always have their truck in a garage with no reception, then it would never update, so I hope it's not on a schedule, but being retired from my government IT work, I have very random schedules, so I'd think that it would be updating when I leave home, like today. Or the day before, or the day before that, or Monday when I had it out for a couple of hours all over the metro area. But if their antenna is made by Apple or Samsung, no wonder it doesn't connect........... those are poor antennas.

No, it's not just cell reception alone. The Data has to get back to the servers where it is stored. This can be sporadic, depending on the load and network coverage at each tower, and any communication or loading issues with the servers. FCA farms it out to SiriusXM, which uses AT&T for transport. The service is provided for multiple auto manufacturers, and is not perfect. Nissan had a lot of issues with the system, and I had to buy a new modem for my Leaf when AT&T dropped 2G coverage.

5G is going to be scary - why? Because the coverage will suck here. Hills and TREES.
A fellow from Texas drove up to look at (and he ended up buying) my Javelin. One of the first things he AND is father said - "never seen so many trees in my life, they are everywhere, even in your cities". Yup - and 5G coverage isn't as far or as good. Trees, hills, distance, 5G doesn't handle as well. So, it will really be fun here when that happens.
It's said they may need twice as many towers here as they do. HAHA - they don't have enough as it is right now.

I've tried running "Blue Stacks" on my laptop and loading uconnect - will see how that works - maybe it won't.......... but fun trying. Just for kicks, no other reason - although it could mean I could start that truck from any of my devices if this works. Windows 10 is also working toward integrating your cell phone into it so you can access your phone apps - for now it's just text and the last 25 pictures but it works great so far.
