I have used this rack in my previous truck with great success to hold motorcycles without taking up too much space in the bed.

I bought the 53.75" version to install it on my Jeep Gladiator with a Line-X spray liner.

However, to mount it at 11 inches over the bottom of the bed I had to trim it to 53 inches to clear the sides of the bed. Once I did that it fit no problem.

Update: I used 11 inches because I mostly haul sport bikes with 17" wheels, 22" tall with tires.

If you haul bikes with larger wheels you could mount it a little higher, 12-13" high, and cutting the bar would be unnecessary.
