changes/revisions to Mopar soft top?

I think I recall reading about changes or revisions made to the factory mopar soft top due to complaints about flapping at highway speeds. Does anyone know when these changes took place. I may be in the market for a soft top and need to know if there are any ones to pass on due to the flapping. I know there are packaging dates on the boxes and I've seen a few on FB that are still in the box with packing dates of early 2020.

Well would be interesting to see as I had not heard anything like that but I have an early model soft top and it does do some popping/flapping at highway speeds but I just attributed it to being a soft top or a jeep thing. Never had one before so now way to really know

No clue if they changed anything, but I have a 2021 soft top and get no flapping at 75 mph unless there’s a gusty cross wind

I believe there is a thread on here about this change. I believe something like 16mm of fabric was removed to tighten up the fabric. This thread also had a build date, if I am not mistaken.

Just happened to be reading this a day ago. I am going to be getting a soft top in the next couple of months. But it does look like you want one built 2020 or later.

Thats probably more along the lines of what I get or sometimes when on the highway with big rigs. But its only on the right side of my truck that it occurs. Its almost like the right side is looser than the left side or has stretched more. Its not a big deal at this time.

I zip tied a flat piece of aluminum to the back of mine. make about 5 holes in the fabric right above the threads/seam. then I zip tied the aluminum around the roll bar. it doesn't flap anymore. bad design though... had a few tj's that did this and the aluminum flat bar solved their problem too. like a 1x48 inch flat bar. I guess you could use threaded rod too just easier drilling holes in flat bar
