rig just threw this code, along with P0140 (O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected)

searching on P0137 it looks to be an effect from a bigger issue involving engine misfire? in any case, first time I'd seen this code, I cleared it with my OBD app and will see if it returns

I'd suggest the opposite - not that a misfire caused the code, but the O2 sensor issue can cause misfires.
Cause an effect.
Misfires don't cause O2 sensor circuit issues,
but O2 issues can often cause misfires.
And the O2 sensor issue could be a wiring issue (connection, etc.) or oil from a valve cover leak can cause problems as some here have already seen - oil coats things and causes false readings leading to O2 sensor codes, and potential misfires because the PCM believes there's a mixture problem.
I can't see a misfire causing the issue, though - how would it?

If I was running JSCAN, I'd set my phone or tablet up to watch for misfires on all cylinders as well as O2 sensor data.
You should be able to nail down the problem with some diagnostic monitoring and troubleshooting.

Given the two codes together, seemed like a wiring issue; i'd presume the dealer would simply start with sensor replacement? Side note- If I have a valve cover leak at 12.5k miles that's possibly the cause, that would be no good...

no JSCAN, so not gonna be any monitoring, but I'd assume JSCAN would supply more info about which sensor is affected?

As I recall it will give the O2 sensor ID or location.

Yeah, wiring issues are not unheard of.
And oil leaks, while not "common" are common enough for others to have had gaskets replaced to resolve oil-soaked O2 sensor issues and for FCA to have issued a TSB related to "if replacing valve cover gasket on......... " where they also recommend valve cover replacement as they've made a mod to the cover design.
Not saying it's either wiring or oil leak, just mentioning that those are areas owners who like to tinker or wrench or fix/modify can look into at home and they are possible places where problems to pop up.

I had the same code. Came and went a few times. Dealer replaced the O2 sensors. They told me there is guidance on this that if one throws a code, they replace both. These were the downstream sensors after the cats. So I wonder if there was a bad batch of these. I had it done at 20k miles; pretty early in the life of the engine and emmissions equipment.

thanks for the info, I'll make sure this is addressed next time I'm at the dealership

There’s also plenty of stories of people having loose electrical connections throughout the vehicle.
None of my little bugs seemed to be, but others have just snapped things together and been fine.
But if there’s an O2 issue out there, no reason to believe you’re special.

and the icing on the cake, the P0300 misfire code came to play finally

I had to drive it awhile to get inspection for hail damage today, otherwise I’m parking it for 10 days until my dealer appt (crazy that I live in a big metro and most dealers are booking 2 weeks out)

Only 2 weeks, I wish is was that short a wait here. Over 4 weeks, a full month+ to get ours in.
Mine for shocks, which they said they likely can't get before then, and my wife's for transmission leak for the SECOND time.
Yes, I called mid-July for both of these, and they can't get in until the 21st for mine, 22nd for hers and I'm not counting on either of them actually being fixed next week.
Doctors - just as bad. I started in July trying to get back into my cardiologist - oh, he's not got his schedule up, sorry, can't make an appoint yet. we'll call YOU back when we can schedule it. Month passes - I call again last week. Oh, he's on vacation most of September, and he'll be out all of October for meetings and conferences and vacation.
I started trying early July - it's after mid August and can't get in to see him - so I told them to make it some other cardiologist - I'm not waiting 3 more months. OK, Sept 28th and then a scan for mid-october that's supposed to be done before the doctor appointment.

Be glad you are in a large metro area where things happen fast.

Nah, this is unusual. Most time it’s a week tops. Just called another dealer and they will look at it end of next week while I’m out of town. So that’s a nice deal, get it fixed when I can’t use it anyways.

Cool, they actually read the sensors and looked for the normal pattern which wasn't there.
Good deal, and really glad it was truly that simple.
Now - I need to check something else here about that valve cover gasket to see if it should effect your truck or not.........

I guess the years in school weren't totally wasted LOL
