I’ve read others have this annoying problem as well. It seems like the noise is coming from the hinges and not the piece that goes in and out at the bottom of the door frame. Anyone else know? The dealership told me it’s the grease breaking down and popping and there is nothing to do except replace the door which is not what I want to do with paint matching issues. Curios is there is anything new on this topic? Seems like humidity has something to do with it to as we took it south and it went away. Came back to Kansas City and the noise came back.

I have this issue too. I haven’t explored what the problem is yet

It is the plastic door detent piece that goes in the door to keep it open, unlike the previous wranglers where “use your foot “ to keep door open was common practice. This piece will break and they will replace under warranty. I’ve had it happen once so far.

Did they just replace the part or the entire door?

Just the part, took a couple of days to order but I’ll bet they have them in stock now.

I think these get stressed when you remove the doors. Make sure you disconnect first, and put back on last before trying to remove the doors. Still a Jeep engineer fault but might be able to prevent with careful door removal especially your install. Don’t unhook strap until detent screws are removed.
