Maybe I have the keywords wrong, but I can't seem to find other reports of this. When I let off the gas at about 25-30mph, I get a clicking sound that is linear with wheel/road speed.
This started happening before I completely swapped my drivetrain (it was an unrelated decision, it just happened to start shortly after I purchased everything). I had hoped I would find something or inadvertently fix it, but after swapping in Adam's Driveshafts and front/rear chromoly axles...it still happens.
Doesn't take much to reproduce, it will happen in 2WD and usually right away - sometimes it will be okay for one stop, but no more than 2-3. Doesn't seem ambient temperature related, either. The biggest trigger seems to be when there is no load, i.e. rolling down a hill.
Only thing I could find (not specific to Jeep) was sloppy transfer case chain, which could be hitting something due to too much slack. I'm curious if that's a strong contender, because I would have to take it to a shop (and also deal with removing the freshly installed skids).
