Earlier in the week I installed new running boards with drop steps. They look really nice and are light weight and very sturdy.
The problem with them is they mounted in a way that left the lower pinch weld exposed, and it looked like shit!
so, off to Lowe’s for 2 Pieces of 8’ long 1.5”x1/8” aluminum flat stock.
Measured and marked mounting holes, cut to length, shaped ends....now I chose use an automotive wrap (2” wide) to cover the stock, rather than painting....we will see how it hold up, but it looks damn good!
total cost, 36 bucks for aluminum stock, and about 15 bucks for the wrap tape....Total time.....1 hour or so.
