I would come late August, early September. Anything can happen at high altitude (Mosquito, Imogene), but I think it’s a best bet.

Heck, we run over Imogene in early September. 👍

Not a trail, but if in the vicinity
drive the Trail Ridge Road, a through road, 12,000 feet,
connecting Estes Park to Grand Lake.
And Mount Blue Sky, formerly Mount Evans, over 14,000 feet,
a dead end but within 115 ft as high as Pikes Peak.
An easy to get reservation is required now
for Mount Blue Sky I've read.
Guard against altitude sickness.
I've done both by motorcycle
and did not tarry.

If you go to Trail Ridge Road, don't miss the original route... Old Fall River Road.

My only CO wheeling trip so far was 4th of July week, and most of the trails were snowed over (San Juans). So, not then.
