I had my steering box diagnosed and ordered from the dealer while it was still stock. One of the first questions they asked when I called about it was if I had oversized tires. I asked him if it made a difference what tires I had and he said it did not. The part is on order. Since then, I raised the front 2.5" and the rear .75" and swapped on shocks and front springs to Rubicon take-offs. I am hoping they don't balk at this.
I also installed the auxiliary switch kit since mine didn't have it from the factory. I was told it would be $155 to flash for the switches. What I am wondering now, is someone here said they flashed the computer for the steering box tsb. If that's so, do I need to ask them to do it for the switches or will it automatically pick them up? TIA

No, you have to request it. The 'flash' for the switches is connecting to the computer and enabling the AUX Switch options so the system recognizes they are there. For the steering box, it is checking and possibly loading new software.

Instead of paying the dealer, I would suggest spending the money on a Jscan license, OBD device, and a security cable. That will let you enable the AUX Switches, and adjust for the larger tires so your speedometer is correct.

I have an OBD Link MX+ already. I'll look into the license and cable and see if I can find where to get those. Thanks

Thx Mr Bill. Will that work with the obd I have and allow me to add the switches and change tire size?
The OBD Link MX+ is one of the better recommended units. It will work to make those changes. There's a few Jscan threads in the Programming section that have a lot of information in them.
