So, I was changing my air filter out and got curious. Stuck my finger in the intake tube and came back out with a bit of oil. Not a film of oil, like enough to tell color and cleanliness. I thought this must be from the PCV hose going to the intake and is was. I’m assuming this is normal but I decided to do the cheap and easy blow by test. Turned the truck on and take off the oil fill cap. Put a light piece of paper over it and see if it lifts of. I was expecting that usual flutter of normal blow by. Except, instead it sucked the paper to seal. This just means my PCV is working right? Truck runs great, 38,000 odd. I’m not too worried, just first time I’ve had a motor that was under vaccum when I checked for blow by.
