Hello everyone. With the decreased departure angle provided by the trailer hitch, I am wanting to gain a little clearance. I just ordered the Rock Hard rear bumper which is made of 1/4" steel. Should be strong enough to absorb some pretty decent hits...with the wrap around and beefed up brackets on the sides. My thought is to have my fab guy create a custom hitch that hides behind a fold down (or removeable...magnets?) license plate. The hitch could also be welded to the back side of the bumper to strengthen the whole set-up. Anyone have any experience with this...I figure I can't be the first to think of it. Anyway, let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions. Oh....and I will be carrying my spare in the bed...just in case anyone is wondering. ;)

Thanks much,
Allan

Looks like JCR is doing this. Not sure what they are doing for a relocated hitch receiver....inquiring minds want to know...not sure if it will be welded to the bumper or not.
