So I have had my Gladiator for about 18 months. A couple weekends ago I was out on some dirt roads that have a lot of washboards. I drive on these type of roads a lot-but just started getting a metallic rattling sounds coming from the passenger dash area. It almost sounds like someone playing spoons. Doesn't happen on smooth roads-tried tightening the visors, made sure all the door bolts were tight. Check for things in the glovebox, even peaked behind it. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

I've got a rattle in the dash too, sounds like it is above the glove box on the passenger side. Mine sounds like there is a chunk of ice down under the cowl. Driving me crazy.

I figured out my rattle. It was incessant, and was driving me nuts. It sounded like it was a marble bouncing around inside the empty glove box. I had emptied out the glove box, and even removed it, searching for the rattle. My wife was convinced, after listening to it on a three hour drive, that it was up inside the dash above the glove box. When I had the glove box out, I reached up inside to try and find anything loose, but no luck.
I was going to pull the cowl piece off next and look inside to see if there was something in there rattle around. But this morning, on my way to work, the sun was out and I reached up to put the sun visor down, and happened to notice that the passenger side visor wasn't clipped in place, and was vibrating up and down on the washboard road. I clipped it into place, and instant silence of the rattle. It was the sun visor all along, but sounded like it was inside the dash.
Happy it was a simple fix, I was ready to drop it off at the dealer and have them tear it apart.
Cheers,
Pete
