Diode Dynamics SS3 Lens Change

I have the Diode Dynamics SS3 Max in the front bumper. OEM steel Rubicon.

Has anyone changed lenses? I currently have amber fog.

If yes, what did you have and what did you switch to?
I am considering white combo

I am looking to do the same with my amber max fogs except change to the white spot lenses for highway use. I have two sets of SS3s and changing the lenses out is really easy.

Unless something has changed, you can swap from white to amber, but not really the other way around. The issue I had years ago when I tried is that the amber/yellow fogs actually have a different colored diode. So if you go from yellow to white/clear, it will still be amber or yellow in color.

I also recall the white SS3s actually produced more lumens and when swapping from white to yellow you ended up with a brighter version of the yellow SS3 than if you had bought the yellow version.

This may have changed, as my experience was over 4 years ago.

FWIW Ive had the Pros in both yellow and white and the Maxes in both yellow and white. Im running the Pros in yellow as of now. I feel like the yellows just perform better year around in my area.

Yea the max has the 6000k led so you can swap between amber and yellow. The yellow lens on the max are darker to compensate. I have a set of pros as well in amber that have the 4000k led. So to your point if you swap to white from amber on the pros then the color would have a slightly yellow color with the clear lens
