The Dakota convertible was on the trend of mini truck customization. Factory convertible pickup. There were also limited edition Shelby Dakotas in 1989. Pretty cool for the day.
My neighbor had the convertible, I had a non convertible model Dakota. Great trucks, and the mid size pickup is something that has been missing from the Chrysler lineup since the Dakota
The Dakota was awesome. First midsize ever sold here. V8 option(s). Bed length options. First full crew cab. Class leading in almost every category.
Unfortunately, it's the only vehicle I've ever seen that got worse with each generation. Cheaper materials, uglier design, more bland with each generation. It's almost like they killed it off on purpose.
