Does 12" wide wheels fit with no lift?

I ordered 12" wide wheels with a -44 offset for my Gladiator. Do I need a lift?
Wheels are 20x12 with 35x12.50 tires.

Honestly, it’s going to look pretty ridiculous without a lift. Not many people like that wide of a tire on a Jeep as it is, but with a lift it at least looks proportional.

That’s pretty extreme. It will depend on the tires you pair with them. I imagine it might look something like this:

I just realized you said 35x12.5. Max rim width is 11 for those so that’s a stretched tire.
