I've had aftermarket LED tails for a year (Winjet) with no issues until last night. The tail/running and reverse lights are working but the brake and turn signal lights are not. I reseated the connector to the housing a few times with no change. This is 2022 that had OEM halogens but I did reprogram for LEDs.

I figured the housing itself was bad so I swapped them side to side and the issue stayed on the drivers side. Okay, so housing works.

Also inspected fuses 107 and 109 both looked fine but I swapped them around anyway, issue still on the drivers side. So the housings are both fine, the fuses are both fine, and the issue is localized to the brake/turn signal circuit on the drivers side.

I can't find reference to any other fuses or relays that would control power/ground to only one side. What else could cause this? I am really hoping to avoid putting the halogen housings back on and reprogramming them just for the dealer to look at it.

Sometimes on the forum I am happy I have just left everything stock. Cost me like 10K in factory options when I purchased, but in the end…happy. Hope you get it all figured out. Lots of good folks on here.

After some more troubleshooting, there is something strange going on.

Within a second or two of of pressing the brake the driver taillight goes out. It does work for a second after clearing the following code
B1642-11

I also verified that the turn/brake lamp power wire provides power after clearing that code. Plug the taillight in, press brake, code is thrown, no more power from that wire.

The code indicates that the BCM senses a ground fault in that circuit and is cutting power.

What's really strange is that the suspect light isn't tripping the passenger side when, but both the passenger LED and OEM lights work fine when plugged in to the driver's side.

My next task is to inspect the light housing and run the OEMs for a bit to see if the same issue turns up. Extreme Terrain and Winjet aren't offering any support since they are a month out of warranty.
