I’m posting this here to see if anyone else has had this issue or if someone can provide advice.
I had to have the engine replaced on my 2022 Gladiator at 32k miles. I always let the engine warm up before driving and 4-5 minutes after startup it would start knocking. The noise would go away once the engine reached full operating temperature. The noise started at about 20k miles but the local dealer claimed they couldn’t hear it. I left the truck at the dealership overnight and went up there the next morning and held their hand and we listened together. They finally heard it. I had to leave the truck there for 3 weeks and they provided a loaner car for some of that time. They say they replaced the engine but I have some doubts that they did. They listed an oil and filter change on the service ticket. I don’t know why a new engine would require an oil change unless the engine is shipped without oil.
Fast forward to today and I now have 51k miles and it’s knocking again. I had an open complaint with Jeep at the time (I forget what they call it) and was assigned a case specialist at Jeep. He was nice and stayed in contact with me but he was marginally helpful. He did periodically contact the dealer to check progress but he provided little assistance in facilitating repairs.
If someone has advice I would love to hear it.
