As far as I can guess, to remove the HT with a cap in place, you'd need a high ceiling lift that could raise the top straight up above the roofline.

At best, I think you could unclamp the top and slide it back on the rails a foot or so. The hoist only lifts the top a few inches, then you need to swing the whole thing around so the rear pillar on the far side clears the rollbars.
That's pretty much what I thought, thanks.

We just bought one and it’s on the way. I know the video shows the freedom panels folded back using your FlipTop - it’ll work the same if we just set them on top, correct?
Yes, I stuck mine on top of the roof after I wheeled it into the garage. Probably should put a blanket between to prevent scratches. The top is very stable on the lift, so I’m not worried about them sliding off.

@EZ4X4 it looks like a great product. I don't think I've seen too many hoists that mount at the hard top rain gutter locations. I have the EZ4x4 FlipTop installed, so I'd be using this with my hard top and freedom panels. Should I have any concerns with having that weight distributed on the gutters? Thanks!

Not at all, we designed it specifically with that in mind.

The lift was built to handle the weight of the hard top plus a FlipTop installed, and then some. That’s actually one of the big reasons we designed it the way we did, since most other options out there weren’t really made with that setup in mind.

The load is distributed across the mounting points, so running it with your hard top, freedom panels, and FlipTop installed is exactly the kind of use case it was made for!
