There was a consistent rattle whenever I accelerated at least moderately as the engine rpm passed through 2.5k+. Took me forever to track this one down. It sounded like it was coming from above first, but then I realized it was below the center console.
Turns out this cable was too far down the boot and had too much slack and was slapping bare metal. I hockey taped it and put some foam in for extra insurance.
It’s good to have my sanity back. I don’t mind all the other rattles and squeaks. It’s a keep thing. Don’t know why this one drove me bonkers.
Anyway, posting this as a psa for others searching the forums for ideas like I did to offer a possible idea.
Also, be careful of the handbrake leather wrap when removing and installing the cover. I scratched it up a bit. Worth the trade off for my sanity though
Cheers
