Bought my Rubicon last Tuesday at a little below MSRP here in Houston, TX. Their website shows several in stoc, but they really only have what is in transit. They are selling as fast as they can get unloaded. Only dealership local that has any on sight is asking $10k over MSRP. I would assume the "1900 available" is an inaccurate number due to those facts.
What happens when we assume zach? :)
Come on over to ATX they are starting to stack up on the lots, good thing you are here dont overpay.

Around here, it seems that the Overlands and Rubicons are selling, but the Sport S are stagnant. (I blame the wheel choice, lol, and the price of course). Had one dealer tell me they were considering modding one of their Sport S due to lack of interest.

It's always the same pattern. When a new vehicle comes out with a lot of buzz, dealers start foaming at the mouth and jacking up prices beyond sticker. Same thing happened with the PT Cruiser years ago which was the height of absurdity. Dealers spew nonsense about "limited availability", "high demand". Initially, dealers can sell the vehicles over sticker price to people who simply don't care. They want the vehicle no matter the price. The buyer is happy and the dealer is happy. Cool.

If you don't want to pay MSRP or over MSRP, just sit tight a few months. FCA has sales goals for everything they produce. Dealers who don't meet those sales goals suffer in multiple ways. That's why they spend RIDICULOUS amounts of money on local TV and newspaper advertising.

A Jeep Gladiator is not a Bugatti. Production is far from limited. For FCA and dealers, volume is a top priority. It's an inevitability that new Gladiator prices will come down. Way down.

Remember the ridiculous markups Dodge dealers were asking for the new Challenger Hellcat? Now you can buy a Hellcat Challenger for WAY below those prices. Reality has set in.
