I took a few moments yesterday and was going through some old records (45s, LPs, etc.) and ran across a stack from my parents' house I grabbed after Dad was killed. Dad had sort of a different taste in music, but my parents listened to the local top 40 station most of the time. Mom appreciated the music more than most parents (she even liked some of my Queen music). Anyway, there in that stack was a record I had forgotten about - a 45 for radio play that was a greatly shortened version of the full song that was a top 40 hit in the early 70s - Dad enjoyed it. I had forgotten about it. Rather than dig things out and play the 45, I looked on youtube for the song and found the full version live. Seeing makes it even better, and live, they REALLY cut loose with it. Oh, if youtube had been around then my parents would be rolling, loving this full version live -

They were supposedly the only bad to receive a standing ovation on Midnight Special. The song is 6:40 when played at normal speed. The producers told them - you have 5 minutes, can you choose a shorter song to perform.
No, we'll make it work.................

Fasten your seatbelts - (no the video is no sped up - they upped the playing)

Love this. We converted my parent’s laps to CD a few years ago for posterity. That was a fun experience.

Been thinking about starting a music thread in the General Topics section. I’ll spin up some Queen on Pandora every now and again. My normal flavor is below. Not trying to hijack.
