My grandfather is in the center with his rifle… and a Jeep behind him. I just had the best feeling when I saw this!

Hell yes!
I've got pictures of my father's brother, Richard ("Uncle Dick") and the flag received after he was killed. He survived Korea and the Chinese, but was killed in a freaky car accident not long after returning to the states. My generation, my brothers and myself, are the first generation of our family to not have been in some branch of the military or served in some way such as law enforcement and so on - even prior to the Revolution where the first of our family here was a Brit referred to as "Captain".
I was too young to really remember Uncle Dick other than I'm told he and I were good buddies and he brought gifts back for me.

I think old family photos like that are neat to look back at - a reminder of many things.

My first boss (at the former AMC shop) didn't ever talk about it but he was a Korean conflict vet as well. He only talked of it when he was forced to retire and my son and I went to visit his home and pick up some of the tools he was giving me - and he found my son had lived and worked in Korea for a while and married a Korean girl. That's the only time I ever heard him even mention anything about Korea but he seemed glad to talk with my son about the country.

Probably Korea. That's a M38-A1, the first round fender jeep that was initially used in Korea. I had a 1953 that I got in 1968 and put a Buick V-6 in it.
