I've got pictures of my father's brother, Richard ("Uncle Dick") and the flag received after he was killed. He survived Korea and the Chinese, but was killed in a freaky car accident not long after returning to the states. My generation, my brothers and myself, are the first generation of our family to not have been in some branch of the military or served in some way such as law enforcement and so on - even prior to the Revolution where the first of our family here was a Brit referred to as "Captain".My grandfather is in the center with his rifle… and a Jeep behind him. I just had the best feeling when I saw this!![]()

Probably Korea. That's a M38-A1, the first round fender jeep that was initially used in Korea. I had a 1953 that I got in 1968 and put a Buick V-6 in it.My grandfather is in the center with his rifle… and a Jeep behind him. I just had the best feeling when I saw this!![]()
