Gladiator sacrificed

The other day while watching an episode of "JayLeno's Garage" he did a segment where they crashed a remote contraption on wheels into the side of a (wait for it)....Jeep Gladiator, to show the effects of such a crash. I believe the Gladiator was brand new and it hurt to see this! Why didn't they use an old (fill in the blank) instead!
