I was talking with a few of my mail carriers on that they are offered fairly good deal on ordering a right hand drive JL/JLU or JT's where I'm at. Might be why one of them has several Jeeps, 2 XJ's and JKU many of their concerns is all the problems some have on JL-JT lines as one had rear axle failure and another motor failure. Of course they blow right through the mileage warranty in no time 2 years 3 at best. One of the XJ's is over well over 300k. Most of the XJ's have converted to right hand drive a few factory ones around too.
Why are they worried about rear axle failure? I doubt they’re lifting it. Granted, mine did go out when new but it’s my understanding that it was fairly rare and hadn’t been much of an issue since the 2020s.

My SWAG is possible the axle shaft leak or peeled cover and minimum maintenance. Vehicle driven many miles at slower speed not paying attention to grinding noise when out of gear oil from leak. One person had a failure of rear axle on their JLU that was bought to use as delivery vehicle, likely one of the same batch of axles and time frame. In my area the mail delivery people use a personal purchase vehicles. Most of them look like they have done most of the trails in MOAB or tested them as a rock bouncer. Crunched bumpers, fenders ect.

Hah. That’s funny.

I honestly have no idea what failed in mine. It was all hush hush and they replaced the entire assembly with new brakes and all and shipped mine off to Dana for them to analyze.
