My previous Mini 2 was getting good pics and it was easy to use but it lacked a bunch of features that I feel I needed for Overlanding and adventure type content, follow me was my biggest need. But wow what a drone! I knew it would be a big bigger than the mini, obviously. Im super impressed with what I have gotten to test so far. As expected everything on it performs noticeably better than the mini 2 did. The triple lenses are wild and easy to use. I still need to deep dive and set the controller up. Speaking of, finally getting away from having to use a phone for controls is really great. The controller with the display built in is crystal clear. The touch screen could be a bit more responsive. Mine also didnt come with that shoulder carry bag that the other models came with. It does fit in an apache case from harbor freight nicely though. :)

For whatever reason it has been unseasonably cold and rainy here in Kentucky and I havent gotten a chance to fly it beyond 5-10 minutes.

That's a badass drone! I had a Mavic Pro and it was awesome, but I upgraded to the Mini 2 for the smaller size. It does great, but it does miss out on some of the awesome features that DJI offers on the higher end drones!

Congrats on the new drone. I have a Mini 2 I love the size of it but to your point the lack of tracking and the cell phone as monitor is dumb. Need to get my 107 so I can actually use it for content.

Im working on the 107 now. My plan is to side gig maybe weddings and stuff so figured the other lenses would really rock that sort of thing.

im more or less the video guy on all my friends trips. Trying to drive and get drone shots was a huge pain. We are going to utah this summer and plan on trying to get some great stuff and my wife wont drive on a lot of it and she wont fly the drone either so win win haha.

My goal some day is a decent, middle-of-the-road drone. Mostly because I live out in the sticks and it would be fun to follow the wildlife out here, check out the rain gutters (LOL - what a use for high tech!) and generally get a few shots of places we travel that you can't otherwise get. It was neat seeing a couple of drone out by the beaches in FL last March I bet the view was crazy fantastic.

Id get something with anti collision for sure. That was my biggest hinderance with the mini but it still did awesome if you didnt need follow me type features. Its for sale! :D
Overall they are super fun to fly and provide some great perspectives.

LOL - tempting but I've spent so much this year............. with my wife's new Jeep, all new HVAC for the house and all.
Around here, would just need to avoid all the trees, I can't see a need to have one follow while driving through rough country. But we've got trees like crazy here. (When the guy and his father came up to buy my Javelin, the first things they said when getting out of their car was "I've never seen so many trees" (they were from Texas))

trees make it tough, and they make me the most nervous to fly around as well.

I know almost nothing about them, other than in threads like this, pictures and so on, but I sooo want one!
(OTOH, if I was a younger person, I might have an ultralight)

Awesome.

I'm running a Mini 3 Pro out of my gladiator

dji_fly_20230626_135258_676_1687923124190_aeb.jpg
My wife listens......... but I never figured in a million years she'd go for such a thing let alone spend the time and effort to find anything out and actually get one - I just opened up one of my presents under the tree (we're busy and gone much of tomorrow) and to my shock, a new dji Mini 3 Pro
Now I know nothing, nada, zip about them, so it's going to be a huge learning curve and all, but my guess is that she didn't get the first thing she found online.
She said she was discussing it with a quilting friend who instantly called her son - and he contacted a friend who does drones and recommended this one.
