Has anyone seen these trim rings available by the piece? I only want 2 rings. In the scheme of things, $40 for 2 rings is no more ridiculous than other overpriced Jeep parts.

Just do it yourself with a can of Rust-o-leum red peelable paint. Don't use Plastidip--its red is really orangey and ends up looking almost like salmon. See my pic for my result. Did that in one afternoon with my kids helping. Taking apart the grill is very easy. Just pop it off, remove some clips to separate the layers, spray the grill insert, dry, and reassemble.

If you do want to add actual plastic inserts like the ones you asked about, make sure they're for the Gladiator and not the Wrangler. The Gladiator's openings are slightly larger to allow for better cooling.

I looked to replace mine as well... but I only found it in a complete "kit". For the 22 JTRD, they are not individual, but rather it ships as one larger piece and when you install it, you separate it into three separate pieces.
Not 100% what models this is the correct piece for, but this is what I found:

It’s easy to do on your own. Pretty straightforward with the only complication is the tab locks you have to pull up and push the bottom Tabs to unlock at the same time. Plastic pry tool works great.

I have a Sport S. There are no removable inserts. I guess I should have mentioned that.
