I've owned this 2022 Jeep Gladiator Sport since August. In the past month, I've been increasingly hearing this grinding noise when accelerating (see video at the 3-second mark)
My foot is already off the clutch, and just on the gas when the noise happens (usually in 3rd or 4th gear.)
Recently the noise has been followed by my Stop/Start shutting down and the yellow icon coming on.
Any ideas as to what this is?

I used to hear that exact sound in a truck, but it couldn't be the same thing. In my case I had an F100 with a transplanted Windsor. The engine mounts were some half-arse kit and kept breaking, sending the engine lurching at an angle and the fan hitting the radiator. I replaced those damned mounts several times and went through about 5 junkyard radiators. Finally got off my lazy rear, pulled the engine and welded in a crossmember kit set up for Windsor mounts.

Again, can't be the same thing, but it sounds like something rotating that contacts something it shouldn't during certain conditions. Did you have the clutch recall work done? First thing I'd do is crawl around underneath, check for anything hanging or loose, missing bolts, check the driveshafts etc. Even check fender liners and other crap that might come loose.

Thanks so much for the reply! I'll definitely look into it. I have an appointment on Monday to have it checked out. I bought it used after it had been modificed, so this may very well be something of that sort.

Turns out it was the clutch, and a worn camshaft. They had to replace the clutch and the camshft. Luckily the clutch is under recall and the camshaft under warranty.

Thanks for the update. So they hadn't done the clutch recall work. I only hope they got it right with the "fix", but so far so good.
