May you make better decisions…
or at least better stories.
Because some of last year’s mods weren’t bold —
they were just expensive.
May you take the Gladiator places you can’t explain well,
meet people who stare at your tires like they’re doing math,
and wake up a few mornings thinking,
“Well… that could’ve been worse.
At least it still starts.”
May your check-engine light stay theoretical,
your lockers engage when you ask,
and your latest “minor upgrade” not require a second mortgage.
May your lift settle,
your alignment survive,
and your “temporary” setup not become permanent
by summer.
May you eat good food, drink the good stuff,
and finally accept that some rules, warranties,
and manufacturer recommendations
were written for people who don’t own tools.
And if the year knocks you around a little,
may it do so gently —
just enough to remind you you’re still breathing,
still standing,
and still pretending that noise was there before.
If things go sideways,
don’t panic.
“I can fix you some sandwiches.”
It won’t fix the Jeep,
but it’ll help your attitude.
Here’s to another year of doing things on purpose…
and a few things that “just happened”
because accountability stayed in 2WD.
Always remember:
The ball drops…
your brain doesn’t have to.
And if anyone asks later…
yeah, it came that way.
Thanks to everyone for the forum input.
I’ve learned plenty,
forgotten a lot,
changed more oil and filters than opinions.
And… sincere thanks for another year of bad advice, expensive hobbies,
and teaching me that “reliable”
is really just a matter of perspective.
Happy New Year.
