Noobie here...be gentle.
I want to mount some really capable tires on the stock spare tire steelies.

I don't want to alter anything. I DON'T have max tow. Stock sport.
I live in VT and deal with lots of mud in the spring, lots of snow and ice in the winter and lots of gravel roads. I'll keep my stock tires/rims for road trips.
I don't like the fatty tire look. I like the military look (keep em under the fenders). I don't have a good grasp on the tire size specs yet - all the numbers confuse me.
I'm thinking Nitto Ridge Grappler, Falken AT3W, or BFG. I was thinking 285/75r17, but I'm totally open to suggestions.
Thanks for your help in advance...I've been reading everything I can and just getting more confused...keep it simple folks...I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.
