Just completed a 900 mile round trip along the New York thruway (87), through the mountains. I was worried it would be a pain to keep it in line. In calm winds it was fine. We hit some 30-45 MPH winds on the way back and it required more steering corrections but even in a crosswind I didn't have to put in a lot of correction.
Another advantage was the tires. Much better driving over pot holes rather than into them.
The gas mileage, somewhat surprising, was about 17.5 MPG at 73 MPH. The mountains didn't help of course. My Mercedes AMG GLC 43 gets 30 MPH on the same trip.
I had a 2007 Wrangler before I bought the Gladiator and am more pleased with the handling of the Gladiator.
