I was just about to buy one of these when I came across this video from @kcmudbug in a thread on here:

Is it really that easy to stick a hand in and open up one of these? I'm pretty surprised since I haven't seen this flaw ever mentioned before.
I don't expect any tonneau cover to be impenetrable, but this was pretty disappointing.

Appreciate any of your insights, and thanks to @kcmudbug for making this video in the first place.

These covers on other trucks are nice, and I think far more secure because the lip sits flush on the tailgate. Why don't they have pics of the Gladiator with this cover installed since it's different? Compare this pic to what they show on their website...

The side rails with the slot in them for the Gladiator version raise the cover up the thickness of the rail...maybe 3/8 - 1/2"? Between that gap and the play / flex of the cover, it was pretty easy to lift up on the rolling part of the cover and pull the cable to pop it open. I know these things aren't going to be totally theft proof, but for what these cost it should at least require a pry bar to defeat it.

So I installed another one today and I think the problem with these on gladiator as @kcmudbug says above is that they do not sit flush to the bed.
I don’t know if this is a design flaw or if we are all installing them wrong but the problem is with this stupid plastic wedge at the end of the rails nearest the taillights.

first the plastic piece breaks off all the time. But it also appears that it’s too long (towards the center of the bed) and if it was a 1/3rd of an inch shorter then the cover would sit almost a half inch lower.

I only noticed this because in fact my plastic wedge broke off again and that side without it sits more flush.
