Inner drag link needs replaced at 22,000 miles

Was out last night running some errands with the Willies, and noticed a clunk when turning in a parking lot. I had my wife move the steering wheel back and forth, sure enough the inner tie rod end on the drag link has play. Kinda disappointed that I'm replacing steering parts on a 22k mile truck. Its my wife's daily, so its not like we wheel it hard. Curious if anyone else is having the same experience.

30k miles and mine had play too. Only where it connects to the pitman arm though.

I took every one of the steering linkage joints and installed a grease fitting. I anticipated the problem long ago. Drill a hole in the cap and screw in a grease fitting. I forget what size drill I used but it worked great. Now I grease these fittings during my oil change interval.
