This might be a noob question, but does anyone declare their aftermarket accessories on their insurance? If so, what parts are insurable? I'd imagine bumpers, racks, toppers, tonneau covers, RRTs, and lights would all be, but what about suspension and wheel/tire upgrades? Skid plates? I understand normal wear and tear and things like trail damage wouldn't be covered, but what about if you just dropped a boat load of cash on a lift, upgraded shocks, and new wheels and tires, only to be t-boned a few weeks later by an uninsured/under-insured motorist?

You can get a rider policy.

You can insure whatever they will allow you to insure.

You WILL pay outrageous premiums.

They WILL fight you tooth and nail on any claim for any amount.

Have gone through all this with motorcycles. In the end, just figure anything you have added as a loss.

Now if someone hits you, it's THEIR insurance that has o cover and you list EVERYTHING. Keep all your receipts for proof.
