When I bought my new JT, it had the spray in liner from the factory. I did not want it, but the deal on my JT was too good to pass up, so I figured too late...too bad... My old 200K++ miles GMC had a painted bed. WHen she was new, I placed a thick black tape down every rib on the bed floor. It looked great, and I got a lot of complements on it. Anything skidding across the back was carried on top of that tape. I only found the tape at Pep Boys, and no where else, ...and not every Pep Boys carried it. I do not remember the brand name, or anything, now. It looked like I painted the spray-in bed liner with a roller, on every rib. THAT is what I wanted to do with my JT. So, two years later...I dont know what I would do without my sprayed in bed liner. My rusty tool box can slide across it, and not leave a scar, and it looks good. Now that I have my DiamondBack on it, no one is gonna see a striped bed anyway.
So, painted bedliner for me.
Oh, that tape had to be replaced ever 5 or 6 years, due to the Florida sun baking on it every day, drying it out. I had to stay on top of that, or get a scratched up bed. FLorida likes rust.

I scratch up my truck beds for 3 or 4 years and then take it in for a Line-X when I want it to look brand new again. They scuff it up anyway, as it won't adhere to glossy paint.
