That’s great! I was looking to see if the Fox 2.5 elite adjustable reservoir shocks in 3.5”+ have the same or shorter compressed length. I wanted to know if I could replace the shocks first, then upgrade the lift to 3.5” later.

It looks like with the Fox 2.5s I’m looking at, I can do exactly that.

2-3" Rear Specs:
  • Travel (in) - 11.170
  • Compressed (in) - 17.430
  • Extended (in) - 28.600
3.5" - 4" Rear Specs:
  • Travel 11.975
  • Compressed 18.350
  • Extended 30.320

2-3" Front Specs:
  • Travel (in) - 10.170
  • Compressed (in) - 16.340
  • Extended (in) - 26.510
3.5"-4" Front Specs:
  • Travel (in) - 11.170
  • Compressed (in) - 17.340
  • Extended (in) - 28.510

They are pretty close. It would be easy enough to add a little bump stop to help limit up travel. Just make sure your coils are not coming loose at full droop.

New FOX Performance Series 2.5-inch diameter shocks have more surface area and increase oil capacity of the shock compared to 2.0, allowing for more heat dissipation. Larger diameter valve shims translate to smoother feel: think firmness without harshness, allowing for a softer tune. The 50 percent more piston surface area compared to 2.0 provides less damping fade and more bottom-out control at higher speeds. Plus, the integrated rear roost guard ensures protection of the shaft from stones, mud, and other debris.

Tuned specifically for optimum ride and performance on larger plus-size wheel and tire packages.
