So, I installed a Bolt hood lock on my Gladiator and love it. It is well designed and installed easily, key works great and it is very convenient to use. I cut my grill as shown in their template and wound up cutting one ‘cell‘ too low. I emailed them just to share, and they, completely of their initiative, sent me a new center grill insert! I am very impressed with their service!
I received the grill insert and verified that it was indeed stamped ‘JT’, held it up to my grill and saw that it matched the pattern and size of the one on the JT that I would be replacing. I measured and calculated which cells to cut from the new insert and very carefully trimmed them out. It looked perfect.
I took the grill off of my Jeep and removed the original panel.
This is when things started to awry. The new panel looks very similar, but not the same. Upon further inspection I found that the mounting is significantly different and I tried to make it fit; it will not fit my Jeep. WTF?!
I have attached a couple of pictures for reference. The new grill is the one on the right side of the pictures (the one with less cells cut out), and is the perfect pattern to remove. So I go to Moparparts to look this up and and it appears there are 5 different grills and none of them have the same part number as mine.
