I was chatting with a few guys at work about my tires and they were asking what i paid for the setup. I know a "good deal" varies from person to person based on their situation, but man I thought that was a no brainer...while i'm content with my purchase, i'm now doubting how good of a deal it really is/was. So I paid $1400 for the (5) 37x12.50x20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the (5) black 20"x10" Rockstar XD811's. The spare tire and wheel were never used/installed and the other 4 have around 7k miles on them. Based on what i saw online, that setup new would have been right around $5k. So does paying 28% of the new price really not equate to a "good deal" when it comes to tires and wheels?!?!

Not looking for sympathy or anything like that, just wondering if my calibration of what a good deal is off when it comes to that kinda stuff.

Something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Me, I like a meatier tire/smaller wheel combo, so even as good a deal as it seemed, id have passed on that set just from an aesthetic standpoint. To each their own, but its just not my style. Others may have done the same, redicing the buying market, driving the price down to what you paid. That said, ridge grapplers are a great tire, and only having 7k miles likely puts >80% tread on them. Snagging 5 of them at 1400, I think you got a fine deal. Should you decide to move them along at some point, you certainly arent taking the brunt of the depreciation as the previous owner(s) did, and youre open to the wrangler market since you have 5.

TLDR; I think you got a fine deal, rock em!
