After programming with the JScan or even the Taser lite for that matter do you have to plug the SWG cables back into the jeep? Could you leave the SGW bypass cable for the JScan connected and tucked under dash? For the Tazer if you decided to remove the taser do you have to reconnect SWG cables?

I have a Tazer. You unplug 2 cables from the SGW and plug them into the Tazer.

That's it. No bypass cables to deal with.

I suspect that with the tazer you have defeated the extra security provided by the SGW so you are at some risk when running in "live" mode from the Telematics system. Though I intend to disable the telematics once winter is over and I'm no long3er using the app based remote start in the -10 deg weather we've been having in NH

You don't have to. Some functions don't work unless you keep the tazer plugged in all the time.

But if you go in for service make sure to unmarry it and plug everything back in.

I'm pretty sure if you unplug the TaZer, you have to plug them back in to the SGW, but I haven't tried running my truck when I remove the Tazer for service.

For the JScan app you get a bypass cable and it stays in the vehicle giving you a wide open OBD2 port. I do remove my bypass cable when dropping the truck off at the dealer.

With the JSCAN, our 2018 JLR operates fine with the bypass cable not plugged back in on both ends. Our JTM rear camera will not work if it is not plugged in. I bought the extension for both and keep them plugged in now.

I did order the extensions so it should be no problem. Thanks for all the info.
