Ok so installed the light bar with 6 KC Apollo Pro Halogen lights, I have the tails at this point hanging to get some questions answered, i have the factory aux switches under the hood so I was thinking to wire all lights together than run one wire down to the aux switch wire but then I started thinking, the box states the lights are 100w with an 8.3 amp draw. So if I have 6 can I not wire them to one 40 amp switch? What would be the best type of connector in back of the light bar to connect all 12 wires and the 12 or 10 gauge down to the aux wires? Lastly is this too much light, I mean should I split up the outside lights etc.

This is why I go with LED over halogen...........why less amperage and ability to combine sets of light on a single switch.

8.3A x 6 = 51.6 amps. That's effectively 20% +/- more then that single switch is rated for. You're going to have to split the load over 2 switches, there's no real way around that. No need to burn your truck or wiring down for simplicity.

8.3 x 4 = 34.4amps - X O O O O X
8.3 x 2 = 17.2amps - O X X X X O

So my solution/recommendation is, the 4 middle lights on one switch and the 2 outbound lights on another switch; as displayed above.

This is where the AUXBeam switch panel excels, I can pair switches together........press 1 button and activates 2 or more switches with a single command aka 1 switch activation for multiple switches. I can configure these settings with the mobile app on the fly.

I have the OEM AUX switches, but the options and ability to configure the output for each switch it far better with the AUXBeam IMO.

Hope this helps you. With what you have its doable, just a tad bit more wiring and thought to accomplish the desired outcome.

Cheers

So I have a 40 amp and a 15 amp switches , so the 40 I can use but I didn’t want to use up the other 40 do you think I can get away with the 15 for the two?

I wanted LED to but they won’t be used a ton and the price was like 950 for the bar and lights and I priced more than double that for the LED version so, kids gotta eat tonight!

I would highly recommend never exceeding a circuit or switches rating.

I'm not going to play the high and mighty guy here either..........but only bad things happen when you exceed a manufactures ratings or recommendations.

Again, just my opinions based merely on the facts as they are or were presented. OR get an AUX beam 8 gang and have tons of flexibility.

Lastly, the supplied cables I assume would not want to be run down to the aux wire , I was thinking because they are not long enough they would need to be spliced, I was gonna run two 12 ga up to the light bar from the aux switches then splice one set into the 4 lights and the other w the two left but what is the best way to splice two wires into one and 4 into 1 , that of course would have to be good outside and as inline as possible, do they make a 4to1 or 2to1 spade or some other kind then I could shrink it to seal it up, google seemed to run me around as to the correct splice/ connector
