Leveling a 2022 Overland

You guy’s posts are helping me out quite a bit. no disrespect to anybody that was not in the service, it’s a personal choice. I agree tires will get me through mud and snow or more important than looks, but looks always matter! You guys know what I’m talking about. Thanks again for your input. Christmas is coming up in Santa Claus might surprise me with tires and a leveling kit!

I would be careful in any dealings with that Santa character. Thirty years ago, he bought my daughter a Barbie Dream House. I had to put it together. It doesn't sound like a big deal until you realize that there are half a million parts and pieces, some so small that I needed tweezers to pick them up. My wife said "You can put a Dodge Colt together, what's the big deal?" I replied, "A Dodge Colt only has about thirteen thousand parts, this nightmare has half a million."

Back in the 80's, we did the opposite! Jacked up the rear ends and stuffed big tires under there. You didn't want them level and heaven forbid the back end was lower than the front! Mustangs were notorious for this.

I remember going to the parts store and you would buy these coil springs that bolted onto the axle and rested against the frame to jack up the rear end for about $20 to $30 bucks. It bounced like hell but we just wanted that rear up in the air!

Here's what I did to determine how I wanted things to sit/look -
I measured like I always do - from the center of the wheel to the lip of the fender flare and made note of that measurement.

I then placed a floor jack under my front receiver (you can use a wood block under the bumper, but the idea is to raise only the front end of the truck, not by the front axle)
I manipulated the jack height until I got the look I wanted, then measured between center of the wheel and fender flare lip again.

This way you can sort of "stage" it - get the look you want and then figure out how much spacer lift it will take to do it.

FNG with Jeeps, I am looking to level my 2022 Overland. I've measured the height of the front and rear, and the rear just shy of a 2" higher than the front. Would the 3/4" pucks that Rough Country sell be worth putting on. I am not going to be crevasse crawling, just want a better look and will be getting bigger, more aggressive tires than what are on now. 255/70R/18 Duelers are on now, been thinking about M/T Baja 33/11.5/18's. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2021 Overland and I used the Teraflex leveling kit with two pucks for a total front lift of 1.5" Front and rear are almost same now when measuring from top of tire to bottom of fender well. The kit comes with one 1" and one .5" puck for each side and new bump stops wich must be used when using the full 1.5". I chose this so if I ever get a heavier front bumper and winch the extra .5 will help keep the front somewhat level. I used this kit on my previous 2020 Sport and older JK. Installed myself then got it aligned. Make sure your jack stands are up high enough so that when you lower the front axle you have enough room to drop it to get springs out
